The company was started in the 1950's with skin on frame and stitch and glue kits under the name Waters Dancing Boat Kit Company. Since our genesis we have developed ultra light marine mahogany plywood kits that have modernized design for performance, touring and recreation. There are many different constructions, hull designs and volume capacities.
These kits are British Standard 1088 Marine Okume Mahogany plywood that is CNC cut with precision cut panels for easy assembly. The building technique used is "stitch and glue" where the panels are stitched together with steel wire over temporary and permanent bulkheads and glued with epoxy. The deck and hull are then fibreglassed with clear epoxy and seat, hatches and rudder (optional) are installed. The build times will depend on the size and complexity of the kayak or canoe kit along with the builders experience using epoxy. There is a comprehensive and complete printed build manual with each kit, and Youtube Tutorials for most of the common skills and steps in the build of our kit.
