Turnbuckles are offered in different lengths and diameters for different applications. The larger turnbuckles (1/4 or larger) are highly weigh rated 2,850 pound break load. Always refer to the proper wire size for the correct turnbuckle.
There are open body, closed body and level locking systems. Each of these will facilitate the installation and removal of the wires. Certain weight ratings will be affected by the turnbuckle body you choose.
Also the turnbuckles have fork or jaw ends. Fork ends are rigid for straight raising and lowering in a single direction, much like a hinge. Jaw or Toggle ends can rotate and lay flat in multiple directions. Jaws and toggles will stop any kinking or bending of the turnbuckle.
Swage forks and threaded swage studs can be fixed to the wire with a crimp and press, which then attaches to the turn buckle. This is the most durable way of installing wire and turn buckles.
