  • Lightning 12 Take Apart

    Options

The Lightning 12 is a light-touring and recreational kayak for paddlers that do not desire a long touring or high performance kayak. The Lightning Series is focused on stability of the kayak, as well as ease of storage and light carry weight and accommodating new paddlers as well as experienced paddlers. This offers versatility and flexibility  and can be built as a full hull or a three piece take apart model.

The hull is a three panel symmetrical construction with the paddler cockpit behind the centre of the bisection of the hull. This ultimately means that the volume of the cockpit is very large and spacious for many different paddlers for leisure and touring. This shape also means that the kayak sits horizontal in the water, displacing an even volume of water on both sides making it very stable at slow speeds. This stability means that this kayak is suitable for photography and video on the water, as well as fishing and hunting applications.

The Lightning 12 TA (Take Apart) cockpit accommodates paddlers up to 6'2" in height, due to the location of its double bulkhead sections.

The Lightning 12 TA has a carry capacity of 300 pounds.

The Lightning 12 TA has a water line of 139", which offers great tracking and does not require a rudder for straight line or manoeuvres.
