GP Unwaxed Polyester Resin

Unwaxed General Purpose Polyester Resin is mixed with MEKP catalyst to apply fibreglass and bond other composite materials. Unwaxed polyester remains tacky after it has completed its cure so that more layers of polyester can be applied without having to sand or acetone wipe to remove wax. As a final layer of the lamination, air dry is added to the unwaxed resin to create a air tight barrier which forces all of the lower layers of polyester resin to cure as one unanimous composite construction. This process is called "kicking down" and it is ideal for multiple layers of fibreglass and mold making processes.
